Cream Puffs with Coffee Whipped Cream and Raspberry Sauce

February 9, 2018

Sometimes in the middle of winter and all the delicious comfort food, you just want something that is light and fluffy and reminds you of warm summer days.  Enter. . . the humble cream puff.  Delicious and easy to make, as long as you don’t slam a door and flatten all the air bubbles and puffiness you worked so hard to create.  Ask me how I know this.

This post is sponsored by Dusty Plains Coffee Co. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Everyone loves a classic easy cream puff recipe, but sometimes the same-old can get a little boring. Here's a great cream puff filling idea: coffee flavoured whipped cream with raspberry sauce. . . yum! A simple homemade dessert that will take your basic choux pastry up a notch. #creampuffs #raspberrysauce #coffeerecipes #coldbrewcoffeerecipes #creampuffrecipe #easydessert #sweettreats

Red Velvet Cake with a Fraction of the Food Colouring

January 28, 2018

Red Velvet Cake is like that girl at the party who laughs a little too loud, wears a little too much make-up, and tries just a little too hard to be your friend. She’s really an awesome person, she’s just overcompensating.  If you got to know her a little better, you’d really like her.

Maybe I’m reading too much into a cake.  Anyway. . .

Looking for a the Goldilocks of Red Velvet cakes with cream cheese frosting? This one is made with beets, very little food colouring, and without buttermilk. It's an easy, from scratch recipe that's perfect for your Valentines day baking. #redvelvetcake #creamcheesefrosting #beets #fancycake #Valentinesday #baking #valentinesbaking #bakingwithbeets #bakingwithvegetables

Dollar Store DIY Valentines Day Banner

February 6, 2017

Here’s a simple Valentines day decor DIY that even a 9 year old can do.  (I know, I made some of my students try it.)  Younger children can do this craft with supervision as long as they are able to cut in a straight line.

All you need is tissue paper in two to four different colours, ribbon (thicker is better so the pieces will stay where you want them) and stickers.
