We recently celebrated my son’s 5th birthday and this time I wanted to keep things simple. No going crazy, no stressing, out nothing. While I didn’t succeed on all accounts, I did succeed with this easy birthday sign!
I love my chalkboard signs and I often look at chalk board printables for ideas to copy. Often the designs are really pretty but look like they would take too much time. It can also be tricky to write in a bunch of different fonts.
This sign solves all those problems. No crazy fonts and completely customizable.
To make it, you’ll need:
- Chalkboard surface
- Chalk or chalk pen
That’s it.
Write the outline of the number of the age of your child. In our case, it was 5. Write the lyrics to “Happy Birthday” as many times as you need. Fill in the weird blank spots with music notes. Done.
It would also be super cute as the front of a birthday card or invitation. We loved having it as a backdrop for his birthday photos.

How do you keep your child’s birthday party fun and stress-free?
